I have done set up my blog and I need to learn much about witch plugin, witch widget will help me. And I need time for traffic, marketing strategies, conversions, etc, etc. But I m very passionate about it and I will succed!

Hi Leslie. Awesome message. Never give-up. When I was much younger, I did door to door selling and I remember this gentleman said to me in the beginning, ” for every twenty doors you knock on, only one will open the door to see what you want”. At first, I thought I was in the wrong business. I am a determined man, so I made a promise to myself (then), knock on 100 doors a day. The first week was tough, but through perseverence and hard work, I started to make a healthy living selling vacuums. I only did that for about three months, yet I taught myself some valuable lessons. Never give-up when you must food on your own table. Saying that, I live on $900.00 a month, am handi-capped, and I have not been in any sort of debt for 15 years. I thank you for your inspiration on blogging and I am anxious to begin. I am looking forward to watching the ten videos you have provided. God bless you, and thanks again, David.

    • There ya go David. You have to be determined. Of course, you have to also have the right plan, but by taking action, you learn the things that you need to learn.

Keep me updated on your progress!

Hey Leslie, great video, I know It that it takes hard work and commitment. It took me a while to find out what I really wanted to do. The site I am doing now was not my first choice. I have started my blog, but the the thing I need to work on is my schedule. My goal is to have a successful site and make youtube partner. While being a wife, stay at home mom and college student. I really need organize my time so I am able to do things consistently. Thanks for the video.

    • Thanks Pamela.

Yep, scheduling your time can be a challenge. Those are great goals. Becoming a Youtube Partner is also one of my goals. It’s very possible. Lets do it!

    Hi Leslie,

I appreciate your honesty. Its true and very refreshing…

Doing this stuff is definitely not as easy as most online teachers/guru’s tell you that it is. It takes “Determination, Focus and lots of Follow Through”.

The first hurdle for most of us is stopping the chase to the next shiny object; the next good product, training, tools, webinar, etc. Most of us literally waist hundreds and thousands of dollars and months, if not years in this fruitless effort.

I’m mentioning this here not to be a wet blanket, but in hopes that others newer to this endeavor than I am, will read this and save themselves from this very common mistake.

    Best to all!

Great video, Leslie. Just wondering if you are Napoleon Hill fan. Taking action is one of his greatest lessons. Keep up with these awesome videos.

    Hi Leslie,

I enjoyed your video. As you’ve explained we’re truly responsible for our success. thanks for reminding me that if I don’t start, I’ll never know how high I can reach. I look forward to your up comming messages.

  • Ineta says:

Thanks for the video. This is what I need at the moment – inspiration. It’s difficult to keep up when English is my second language… and competition is massive…

  • D'Arcy says:

I’d love to leave a comment but I cannot view the video because it will not play on my Apple computor or my iPad 🙂

    • Hi D’Arcy,

Thanks for letting me know. I checked on my iPad and the same thing happened. I was able to find the problem and I fixed it. You should be able to see it now.

  • D'Arcy says:

“Inspiring” and “Real” are the first two words that come to mind watching this video on my iPad …

“Inspiring” because your excitement overflows and gets me feel excited too! …

You shows how the internet still offers opportunities for the little guy; and do it in a realistic time frame and affordable cost.

“Real” because there’s no B.S. in your presentation. That applies not only to you but also to Yaro & Gideon … what a solid group you are!

PS: The reason I mentioned that I viewed the video on my iPad2 was to recognize the fast response from Leslie when I hit a problem getting it to play on an Apple computer or the iPad2. You fixed the problem within minutes …. that says a lot about your commitment to your followers. Thank you!

    • Thanks for the feedback D’Arcy,

Yep. I think it’s important for me to be there to answer questions. I know I had a lot of questions when I first started, and having people to answer really helped. It’s not always easy to respond quickly, but it’s worth it when I can 🙂

Anyways, glad you are enjoying. Stay tuned for more 🙂

  • Roger says:

    Great video and thanks.
I am a student from BAB and have also taken other courses from Yaro & Gideon. I’ve learned so much.
My next step of action is to produce videos for my YouTube channel to bring those viewers back to my blog.
I love how relaxed and natural you are in your videos. No doubt your teaching experience has helped with that. Could you tell me how you prepare for your videos? Are you just using an outline? It doesn’t look like you’re reading from a teleprompter. I would love to someday be that comfortable and effective in front of a camera/audience.
Again, thanks for all your hard work and inspiration.

    • That’s a great next step Roger. Youtube is so powerful and video marketing is awesome.

In terms of these videos, honestly – I don’t use much. The one from today, I just typed out 3 sentences which said the 3 topics I want to cover.

The key is to make videos often. After a while, you get better at it and it just comes naturally. I try not to think too much, and I act as if I’m just having a conversation with a friend. That isn’t too hard because I’m really having a conversation with a friend, hundreds (or thousands) of times via the net 🙂

      Hope that helps!

  • Barb says:

Hi Leslie, you are an encouragement and an inspiration!
I have a free WP blog – is it possible to transfer this to wp.org? That is what I want to take action on!
Thanks for the way you present the videos, so clear and easy to understand – and I love your smile!

    • Hi Barb, yes it is possibile to transfer to your own wp.org self hosted blog. You need to export from the old and import into the new. It’s in the “Tools” section of your admin panel. I think I will eventually make a video about how to do that.

      Take care, and Take ACTION!

  • Chris says:

Okay, I gotta admit, your videos are something! I couldn’t agree more. “95% of success is failure” – This is VERY TRUE! I just started out my blog and to be honest, I thought it’ll be easy. Lol. Right now, I’m trying to learn how to make a podcast, video, etc for my blog and wow, to realize that it takes so much time and effort but I’m never giving up. I got so much more to share and post on my site. Thanks man!

    • Thanks for the feedback Chris. Sounds like you are thinking along the right lines. Using those methods can bring a significant amount of exposure if you do it right. You’ll LOVE BAB 2.0!

  • I think (in hindsight) that I should have named my blog, which is http://www.lynnschneiderbooks.com, something else, not with my name in it. Something more searchable. I’d like to know more about changing that, if it’s possible. Is there some way to link blogs or change the name behind the scenes? I am also considering going from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. So I guess that’s what I’m going to work on next. I see someone else has the same concerns and you may do a video about this import from .com to .org. That would be great.

    • Yes, you can change your name, but you loose a lot of the reputation that you’ve established up to the time of the change. It can be done, and I’ve done it in the past. In fact, I did it with both of my sites. Traffic dropped significantly, but then I was able to build it up over time.

And yes, I do recommend switching to a self-hosted blog.

Leslie, I still haven’t starter my blog site, or gotten a website either, but after watching this video, I see that I’ve got to get going in order to understand what I’m doing. Thanks for the video, I’ll be doing more, in the next few days.

I like honesty and appreciate your video.
    Joyce.

    • Glad you appreciated the honesty. In terms of figuring out wordpress though, what we’ve tried to do is to break it down so that it becomes easy, so definitely go through the free videos, and stay tuned for Become A Blogger 2.0 Premium.

    Hey Leslie,

I really enjoy your videos, you are a great communicator, honestly the 10 video to become a blogger loose part of your energy just for the fact the there is just your voice on the slideshow. But are also very useful, a little boring, but very effective. Your inspirational video are much more exciting!!!
I am the type of blogger that blog not to make money but to spread my ideas around the web, so even if am not so interested into the “marketing” part anyway my goal is to sell my ideas to the people that read my blog 😉

    thanks for your work!!

    Matteo

    • Hi Matteo,

Thanks for the feedback. The 10 videos are me showing you HOW to do stuff as opposed to giving you inspiration. That’s the purpose of these videos.

All the best with your blog!

Hi Leslie, I just love your presentation style – I could watch and listen to you all day, and what you say is so true. I also had a wise person who gave me advice. It was “More is lost through not doing, than not knowing”.

There is a lot of hype and high-powered selling in online marketing, but there is a very small band of people I like to I think of as, ‘my people’. First it was Yaro, then I added Gideon, and now the 3rd musketeer has arrived! Welcome to my trusty band of heroes, Leslie!

  • I love how upfront you are about how you can’t help anyone become a “successful blogger”, it is 100% hard work. I’ve been blogging properly since November 2011 and there are days when I wonder why I’m bothering because it seems like I’m getting nowhere, but I’ve told myself I have the hosting for 2 years, I’m going to make the most of it for those 2 years – and then if it’s really getting nowhere I’m allowed to give up, but only if I’ve worked hard enough!
Now, time for me to get back to that hard work…

  • Nancy says:

Hi Leslie. You are very inspiring and do charismatic! I think you will have a bright future ahead of you.

    • Hi ShariLee,

So glad that I can be a welcomed face on your computer talking about what you need 🙂

In terms of BAB 2.0 – it is basically the updated version of the original BAB, using the new version of wordpress. However, the modules on Podcasting and Video are all new.

I’m a fellow Michigander but now living in Southern California… You posed yourself very well on video that smile that charm… All of the things you stated here is 100% true… But one thing getting over the fear of failure is easier said then done… I think that most of the folks following you here have gone to following that next shinny object… I know I have… But some are good and most are rip off products… But the thing that holds me back is when I fail I just don’t want to get back on the horse… Right now my head is going in so many directions,do I want to make money on offline marketing? Do I want to make money selling products as a affiliate marketer. Do I want to be an author and write books… Life is so confusing and all we want to do is doing it for our family’s,and living the American dream… Sorry am so long winded ,but you did a great job and thanks for sending me this link.
    From your confused follower
    Reg B.

    • Hi Reg,

Woohooo to the fellow Michigander. I feel you though – The fear of failure is serious, but you can’t let that hold you down. The people who have accomplished the biggest things are people who take risks. Those who risk nothing, accomplish nothing.

I’ve had my share of “rip off products”, but I try to get back on the horse and make things happen.

Anyways, glad to have you here and looking forward to your success!

See you at the webinar.

    • Hey Shirley,

Leslie, great REAL video. I love how much you don’t sugar-coat anything. You offer real advice for those of just getting started. You’re right, it is easy to get sucked into all these “make money easy” deals that are all over the internet.
Question for you – I have a domain name that I bought through Blogspot. I’ve been at that blog for about 2 months. I’m ready to move over to WordPress, but the thing is that I really don’t want to start over with a brand new domain name. I’ve established somewhat of a following there and have links all over the web to that domain name. But I’m having a hard-time figuring out how to get my domain name released from Blogspot. I feel like I’m at a stand-still and can’t really get my blog up fast until this is taken care of. Any suggestions??

  • Aron says:

How do you speak about a topic so confidently. I have interests but I’m not an expert in them by far. They are interests. So how do you go from researching something to actually presenting it fluently on a video when your not an expert?

    regards,
    Aron

    • That’s a great question Aron,

This is how you do that – by becoming an expert over time, but by not trying to act like something you aren’t. If you are learning, share your experiences. The journey is always more interesting than the destination. Just be real with your audience.

      All the best!

  • HansHansen says:

    Hi Leslie,

At some moments I was afraid you were going to burst out in laughter. Great heart warmer though.
(goed gedaan, man) So in my case I better start my music arranging blog soon. 1 question: How do you upload your picture?
    With friendly greetings, Hans

    • Yep, you better get started 🙂

For your picture, it’s called a gravatar and you can upload one here – http://www.gravatar.com. Once you sign up for one, it will show up on ANY blog that use gravatars for comments (which is just about EVERY blog) 🙂

      Take care my fellow Dutchman!

    Good afternoon Leslie!

I have got to say…this video and your words are absolutely a REFRESHMENT from all those out there that use their success to make others think, as you said, what they are telling/teaching is a “get rich quick” method to success! There are too many individuals out there are using their success as a gimmick to get others to purchase their products. But from all the research I’ve been doing I have noticed one main thing between those who are successful AND genuinely want to help others succeed — each of them (including you) make it a point to bring that piece of reality and honesty in saying that success is not easy…that failure has to be considered a step in the process and thought of as a way to learn better ways of doing things. I remember a couple quotes I’ve read a lot to remind myself of this – “I have not failed. I’ve just found 2,000 ways that won’t work.” by Thomas Edison & “Don’t let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it.” by E. Nightingale.

I have actually registered my domain name and created a host account through Host Gator. I know this is only the first step in the million that it will take me for to be successful, but I am looking forward to each and every one of them. My next few steps are going to include finding a theme I think fits my blog & what I want to bring, build my site into something I am really proud of, and then start my process of brainstorming and planning out what my posts will consist of…I like your tip of using a blogging blueprint from LWL. 🙂 I’m going to be using that for my blog…

Again, THANK YOU for being one of the few who are genuinely helping us to grow into our own success & being honest with what it will take for us to get there!

    • Awww, you’re just trying to make me blush over here 🙂

Thanks for your kind words Cassandra. I’m glad to hear that you are finding value in the videos and content. Yep, registering your domain name and creating a hosting account is a big step in the right direction. Yep, there are many more steps to come, but I’m so glad to see that you are taking action. That’s where the rubber meets the road.

Keep me updated on your progress.

    Nice video Leslie,

Have set up the blog with the domain name. Wasted a bit of time with the name of the domain but eventually pushed through that area. Have been guilty of in the past of trying to get things perfect before starting any project but realise it’s important just to keep moving forward and adjust and make the necessary amendments as you go.

    Cheers

  • You’re an amazing presenter Leslie and I appreciate your candid, honest and insightful approach. I got over a quarter million hits at my blog last year but it came unexpectedly since I’ve been blogging for years without any response and know little or nothing about SEO, how to direct traffic or monetizing my webpages. Now I’m practicing making screen-casts inspired by you. I’m looking forward to hearing more of your videos and applying your lessons.

  • Leslie, you are just the inspiration I need right now! I have set up my blog and plan on adding content on a daily basis. Thanks for your great videos. I thought you might find it amusing that my cat, Chloe, has never paid any attention to anything on the computer before tonight while watching this video. She stared at you the entire time and gently pawed you…I think she’s in love! That’s a very good endorsement…haha.

    • LOL. That’s awesome Sheila. I’m glad I can have an impact even on your cat. CHLOE ROCKS!

Glad to hear your dedication to blogging regularly. Do make sure to keep me updated on your progress (and also Chloe’s progress, lol).

Thank you, Leslie.  I am trying to earn some extra case in these hard times.  I would love to finish college, but the economy is making it near impossible and now my daughter is in college as well.  My passion is dog training.  I will be going for a degree in Psychology at Penn State World Campus.  I’m sure I can be accepted, as I have a great GPA.  However, I owe another college money and can’t seem to get it paid…no go until I do  : (   I never got to finish because of having to put things on hold for my in-laws illnesses and deaths, then due to estate responsibilities, and of course, lack of money to pay that old bill.  Any ideas on what I can give away free on a dog training blog?  I am new at the training, so I have nothing free to give that would benefit most people at this point.  Thank you!  Also, thank you for your helpful videos  : )

    •  @krisseabolt Sorry to hear about all you are dealing with Krisseabolt. Sounds very tough, but you can overcome it and rise to the top. I know you can.

To answer your question specifically – you can come up with a quick pdf report on “How To Get Your Dog To Sit”, or “The Top 10 Ways To Train Your Dog Quick And Easy”. I’m just coming up with stuff off the top of my head as I really don’t know anything about dog training. I’m sure that if you tried, you could come up with a bunch of other better ideas.

Also, make sure to sign up for the 10 Free videos on setting up your blog. I see you are on Blogspot. If at all possible, you should get off blogspot and start your own self-hosted blog (explained in the videos).
