How to Create Email Forwarders in Cpanel

November 18, 2011

Do you run multiple businesses or have multiple email addresses for your business. For example, do you have a support email AND a email to contact you personally? Instead of trying to manage multiple email addresses, why not create email forwarders?

Here's an easy way to do it from within Cpanel (your hosting control panel).

Transcript of Today's Episode

Hello and welcome to another how-to video from learningwithleslie.com where I show you different things on how to do things, Internet Marketing, Online Business, Blogging, Social Media, you know all that www stuff. I’m your host, Leslie Samuel from learningwithleslie.com.

In this video, I want to show you how to create email forwarders in Cpanel, which is the control panel that comes with your hosting. So, let’s head on over to my control panel right now.

I’m logged in to my hosting control panel.  What I’m going to do is I’m going to come down here to ‘Mail,’ and I’m going to click on ‘Forwarders.’ Then, you’ll see I have a number of forwarders already set up. What this does is whenever I want to create another email address, but not have a full email account, I can create a forwarder.

So, for example, if I wanted to make an email address that is [email protected], but I don’t want to manage a totally separate email address, what I do is come here to ‘Add Forwarder,’ and then add [email protected] And then, I’d set the forwarding destination to [email protected]

What this will do is this. Whenever someone sends an email to [email protected], it takes it to an email account that I’ve already set up, [email protected] That way, I don’t have to manage a totally separate email account, and log out of the first in order to access the second. So, then, I’ll click on, ‘Add Forwarder.’ And then, you’ll see it will say, “All emails sent to [email protected] will now be copied to [email protected]” I have successfully created an email forwarder for this email address.

So, that’s all I want to talk about in this video. As usual, I want to invite you to come back to the website at learningwithleslie.com, and there, you’ll find more how-to videos in addition to a bunch of other stuff to help you succeed online.

This is Leslie Samuel, that’s it for this video, and I’ll see you in the next one.
