On Sunday, I got a message from the Hosting Company that hosts CaliStyle101, letting me know that they were experiencing some server issues. In response to those issues, they shut down the server to “fix stuff”. Ever since the fix was made, we've been noticing that CaliStyle101 was experiencing more issues than before.

This all culminated last night, when I received an IM from one of my members letting me know that CaliStyle101 was down. Since then, I've been working with the hosting company to get it back up. What we discovered was that for some reason or another, the entire database was corrupted and we needed to revert back to the way the database was on the 17th. What this means is that we just went back in time by three days. In other words, it's as if nothing happened since the 17th. All registrations, private messages, trades etc that happened since the 17th have disappeared.

Ok, enough of the bad news. Lets try to find a way to put a positive spin on it. This convinced us to make a switch that we've been trying to do for a while. We are totally switching companies and upgrading to a more powerful dedicated server. We are in the process of doing the migration. This blog and Prizefast (our new Freebie Network) are already on that new server and we are hoping to have CaliStyle101 on the same server soon.

Once everything is fully up and running and on the new server, things will be back to normal (and hopefully better). At that point, everyone that has registered since the 17th, will have to re-register. If you have completed trades over the last 3 days, you can set them up and complete them with no issues.

Thank you for your patience in this. When dealing with computers and the internet, these are some of the things that happen from time to time. We just get back up, dust ourselves off and make stuff better. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them below.
