For me, this was one of those things that I never dreamed that I'd be doing and I consider myself blessed to have had that opportunity.

The truth is – a big part of my motivation for starting my biology blog was because I saw what they were doing.

Now here's the deal. I can't tell you when last I was EVER pushed and challenged as much as I was during that week.

10 Ways to Become a Better Teacher / Blogger

Being surrounded by bright minds and great thinkers really gives you a whole different perspective on changing the world. It makes you see (even more) that it IS possible.

One of the biggest takeaways I got from being there is that I need to constantly push myself to be a better teacher. This is something I would also like to encourage YOU to do.

But, I'm not just going to tell you to do it. I'm going to give you some guidance. Here are Ten tips I'm going to be using to help myself be a better teacher:

  • Don't assume your audience knows more than they do
  • Don't try to seem smart – Keep it Simple
  • Put yourself in your audience's position
  • Use simple stories to explain complex concepts – parables
  • Give lots of examples/case studies
  • Start with a plan
  • Push yourself to learn more
  • Have a clear end Goal
  • Create smaller goals based on that end goal
  • Get feedback from other experts and use it
  • BONUS TIP: Surround yourself with people who are doing awesome things

If you use these tips, you'd be surprised to see how much your teaching and blogging skills will improve over time.
