Yesterday was a very interesting and fun day. I went Skiing for the first time ever. Now, for those of you that don't know – I am from the islands. We don't ski there. There is no snow, and it's pretty much warm all year. Snow and island people do not mix too well. However, I decided to give it a go. This was totally new to me and I had NO IDEA what I was supposed to be doing, and there was no one with me as I got on the lift.

On my way up, I thought to myself: “Hmm, I'm not exactly sure what I've doing and the ONLY thing I know about skiing is that people on tv look pretty good doing it. So I reached to the “top” of the bunny slopes. I used to think that the bunny slopes was a short 10 or 20 foot little ramp, and I was obviously WRONG.

When I reached to the top, the only way to go was down. However, there was someone at the top who I knew. I screamed out to him: “Dude, what in the world am I supposed to do?”

He then gave me some basic instructions on how to move forward, make turns and stop. His instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow and I tried my best to do EXACTLY what he told me to. To make a short story even shorter, I made it down the hill – No falls, scratches or bruises and it was an awesome experience.

I also realized that if I hadn't called out to the more experienced skier, yes, I would've made it down, but it would've taken me A LOT LONGER and I would NOT have enjoyed it as much.

Did I stop there. Of course not – I decided to do it again. Unfortunately, I fell once on the second try. It wasn't too bad though. After coming down the bunny slopes 4 times, I decided it was time to move up to the next level – blue. This one was steeper than the bunny slopes but not as steep as the Black diamond.

This one was much more of a challenge for me. I have no idea how many times I fell. But you know what – I made it down. My legs were shaking, I was tired, but I made it down. At the end of that one, I decided that I had enough. However, the next time I go skiing, I would've had some experience and will probably be able to take my skiing “skills” to the next level – taking it one step at a time.

The Bunny Slopes of Making Money Online

The more I thought about my skiing experience, the more excited I became. I realized that the same thing applies to Making Money Online and Freebie Trading. When I first heard about freebie trading, I had NO IDEA what it was about or what I was supposed to be doing. Fortunately, when I decided to give it a go, I found a mentor who was able to give me guidance and I was able to make it down the Bunny Slopes of Freebie Trading.

Since then, I started to perfect my skills as a freebie trader and I really enjoyed doing it, just like I really enjoyed the Bunny slopes. However, at a certain point, I decided that I wanted something more. I decided to get into blogging and affiliate marketing. I made a few mistakes. However, the successes far outweigh the “mistakes”.

Here are the lessons I learned from my skiing experience and the correlations to making money with freebies:

1. Start Small.

It would've been ridiculous for me to start skiing on the Black Diamond slopes, although I'm sure the “black diamond experience” is an awesome one. I needed to start on the bunny slopes to establish a strong foundation. In the same way, there are many exciting ways to make money online. I know some people personally who make more in one month than I make in a year at my full time job as a teacher. However, instead of trying to do exactly what they do now, I decided to start with Freebie Trading.

2. Get help from others who know what they are doing.

There are others who have traveled the path before, who have much more experience. If I didn't ask the experienced skier, it would've been rough. In the Freebie Industry, if I didn't find a good mentor, I could've made some serious mistakes. Yes, I might have figured it out on my own, but getting advice from more experienced individuals saves a lot of time.

3. Try bigger things.

Freebie trading is awesome. You can have a lot of fun and make good money. However, it is not the end. There is so much out there that compliments Freebie Trading, such as blogging, affiliate marketing etc. Your experience as a freebie trader sets the stage for bigger things. This is the reason I got into programs like Wealthy Affiliate, Blog Mastermind, Become A Blogger and others. I could NOT leave without trying something bigger than the bunny slopes.

There was one more thing I saw at the skiing that was so interesting to me. There were about 200 skiers there that were over the age of 70. There was some senior program going on. What was very interesting to me that there were a bunch of these senior citizens who were going down those slopes like it was nothing. You could not tell they were senior citizens until they got down to the bottom of the slopes and started walking. This REALLY amazed me. However, it showed me that things get easier with experience. They had been skiing for years and now it was second nature to them.

In the same way, it might seem difficult to make money online, but once you have the experience and you know what you are doing, it becomes second nature. Freebie Trading has become super easy for me, and I'm sure all the other things will to. Blogging and affiliate marketing have already started getting easier, because I've been practicing. So, if any of the above seem hard in the beginning, trust me, it gets easier over time.

I'm going to end this post with a little video of my experience. It's nothing elaborate, because I'm still a beginner, but it does illustrate my point well. PLEASE, do NOT laugh at me, it was my first time 🙂
