Not all that long ago I was probably where you are now.
That is, I knew blogs existed but didn’t really know what they were. I sure didn’t know how to make one work for me!
Ever since my days at university (college), I’ve dabbled in business in some form or another. Some dabbling was successful, some not. In particular, I found the Internet to be pretty UN-predictable when it came to business success.
Then a friend told me that blogging was a great way to promote business on the Internet but, like I said before, I didn’t know what a blog was! After doing some research I came to the initial conclusion that blogs were really no different from normal websites.
How wrong I was!
Unlike a conventional website, a blog is a living, growing entity, evolving and changing with the rhythm of its community.
Now back to my story …
I continued to research and began blogging about the Internet proofreading business that I owned at the time (BetterEdit.com). Unfortunately, the blog wasn’t driving much traffic to my website and, truth be told, writing regular posts about proofreading didn’t exactly ‘rock my world’. Bottom line … I lost interest in it.
But I didn’t give up. Instead, I started to blog about something I AM Interested In - Entrepreneurship
Instead, I decided to blog about something that does ‘rock my world’ … entrepreneurship. And so I started a new blog at Entrepreneurs-Journey.com.
This time it was different; I found that I really enjoyed blogging. Plus, I found other people were reading my posts and adding their comments.
This was still a learning process and after six months I discovered some people actually make a pretty good living from blogging.
Again, I did my own trial and error research and after another two years or so, I finally saw some real income—$2000 to $4000 per month - from selling affiliate products, and taking sponsors.
Now, this certainly paid the bills but I knew that my blog had the potential to do a lot more so I added a newsletter that drew even greater numbers of traffic to my blog … and now that monthly income figure has another zero on it.
Now my blog averages $30,000 to $50,000 each and every month, all from blogging!

awesome videos. i am trying to find my way through the jungle of how to become a blogger/internet marketer but i seemed to keep going round in circles until now.
i am a technophobe and my eyes glaze over when i see anything remotely technical, eg whenever i read instructions on how to link domain names to web hosts or anything of a similar nature.
gideons presentational style is so clear and concise (and you can pause and rewind the videos if you are not sure). i have learned more in a few hours than in the previous few months. i can´t believe this is free !! thanks for all your help guys, keep up the great work,

This has got to be the best, most informative, easiest to use video EVER. I tried reading the Dummies Books, Idiot’s Guides etc. and your video beats them all hands down. I was totally lost trying to understand what the books were saying and gave up after only a few pages. I love the way you TELL us what to do but then actually SHOW us how to do it .. what the screen looks like, where to look for the tab etc.

These are just what I needed, as I am still on blogger and have domains ready and waiting to go for my new wordpress blogs - but still learning and finding the best plugins, creating my own themes with some great blog design software (rapidnichewebsites), and learning my way around hosting, FTP and cPanel - eek!
So many other videos out there are too basic and don’t show the whys and ins and outs, leaving a lot to still learn.
But your site is wonderful. Easy to navigate, lovely and clean on the eye, and lots of options. The videos are great quality and full of great info - I think I will have a look at Blip.tv too now :-)

Absolutely brilliant videos! RSS feeds are handy for keeping update on your favorite authors, bloggers, and websites. I like using them to update my websites automatically whenever I write a new post on my blog.
Dirty little secret:
You can also use RSS feeds in conjunction with Google Reader to “spy” on your competiors; Whenever they come out with a new product you will know. RSS is a great way to stay updated to news in your industry.

Nothing could have explained to me better than these videos!
I should have found this earlier than anything else, then I could have avoided setting up my current blog with Blogger, and instead I did that with WordPress with hosted + my domain name. I registered at several services with current URL, so it’s not easy to change everything once I get started, so I keep it in mind every word you say in these videos for my next blog.

This video was very informative, and my personal favorite. I had no idea that feedburner could do so much, and all for free. I like how it gathers all the statistics and then provides the cool bubble wrap so you can see your stats visually.
This video actually answered other questions that I had when you went into the widget area, I didn’t even know that was there.

How refreshing that you guys have taken the time and trouble to make videos on such a subject. I find written instruction somewhat complicated to follow being a visual learner. With very little knowledge of any coding I think I have everything in place. It has taken me a good few days to get the hang of word press, not used it before and have only been blogging for a couple of months.
